The Bookkeeper Barley Buyer supports barley purchasing operations by entering buying data, monitoring inventory activity, preparing reports, and helping management maintain accurate operational information. Key Responsibilities
- Enter purchasing data into a computer-based buying program for barley received at station locations.
- Operate buying equipment, track inventory activity, and run usage and inventory reports.
- Reconcile transactions, prepare accruals, and maintain accurate records for purchasing and inventory status.
- Communicate professionally with vendors regarding buying activity, pricing, and related operational details.
- Provide timely reports and operational information to management teams.
- Support accurate documentation, customer service, and day-to-day administrative processes.

Required Qualifications and Skills
- Enter and maintain barley purchasing data in a computer-based buying system.
- Reconcile buying transactions, prepare accruals, and support inventory reporting.
- Track inventory levels, run usage reports, and communicate operational updates to management.
- Work with vendors in a professional manner, including discussions related to contract pricing.
- Minimum of 1 year of buying experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong computer literacy and ability to learn or use buying and inventory systems.
- Experience using buying equipment, tracking inventories, and preparing reports.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision and complete tasks accurately.
- Willingness to work overtime when required.
- Excellent verbal communication skills.
- Working knowledge of customer service practices.
- Strong attention to detail, organization, and follow-through.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in agriculture, grain, barley, commodity buying, or receiving station operations.
- Bookkeeping, purchasing, or inventory control experience in a production or agricultural environment.
