Job Summary

We are seeking a Benefits Counselor for a hybrid contract opportunity supporting employees during the annual benefits enrollment period. This role is ideal for a customer-focused professional who enjoys helping people understand important benefits information, navigate enrollment questions, and receive accurate support during a busy seasonal period.

As a Benefits Counselor, you will join a large, well-organized seasonal team with paid training, supportive leadership, and a structured environment designed to help you succeed. This opportunity offers valuable experience in the insurance and employee benefits space, with the potential for long-term employment for top-performing hybrid employees. Fluent English/Spanish bilingual candidates are highly encouraged to apply.

Key Responsibilities

- Answer inbound calls from employees regarding benefits, enrollment options, eligibility, and general plan questions.
- Assist callers with benefits enrollment and provide clear, easy-to-understand explanations of available benefit plans.
- Troubleshoot website, login, and basic navigation issues while guiding users through online tools.
- Accurately document customer interactions, updates, and follow-up actions in multiple systems.
- Make outbound follow-up calls as needed to resolve open questions or complete enrollment support.
- Deliver professional, patient, and accurate customer service in a high-volume contact center environment.

Compensation and Benefits

- Pay: $19.00 per hour.
- Completion bonus available for employees who meet attendance and quality expectations.
- Contract assignment scheduled to start in early August and run through December 31.
- Hybrid schedule based in Lake Mary, FL, with 3 days onsite and 2 days remote.
- Paid training provided.
- Training schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:45 AM to 5:30 PM EST.
- Training includes three weeks of classroom training followed by one week of nesting before moving into production.
- Work schedule requires flexibility Monday through Friday between 6:00 AM and 8:00 PM CST.
- Overtime may be required from October through December.
- Occasional Saturdays may be required during peak enrollment season.
- No planned time off during the assignment, especially during Q4.
- Top-performing hybrid employees may be considered for full-time opportunities after the project.

Required Qualifications and Skills

- Support employees with benefits-related questions during the annual open enrollment period.
- Assist with benefits enrollment, plan explanations, and online system navigation.
- Manage inbound calls, outbound follow-ups, and accurate documentation across multiple systems.
- Provide high-quality customer service in a fast-paced, high-volume contact center setting.

- At least 2 years of combined customer service and office experience.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to explain benefits information clearly, professionally, and accurately.
- Basic computer proficiency, including internet navigation and common troubleshooting tasks.
- Ability to multitask across multiple systems while maintaining accuracy and customer focus.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Positive attitude with the ability to stay calm, patient, and professional during peak call volume.
- Availability to work the required schedule, including overtime and occasional Saturdays as needed.

Preferred Qualifications

- Previous contact center or call center experience.
- Two years of college coursework.
- Fluent English/Spanish bilingual communication skills.
- Prior experience supporting employee benefits, insurance, open enrollment, HR services, or similar customer care functions.
