Job Summary
We are seeking detail-oriented Audio Annotation Clerk for a contract/temporary opportunity in Lake Mary, FL. This role is ideal for candidates who enjoy listening to audiobooks, podcasts, long-form audio, or detailed voice recordings and can maintain focus for extended periods.
As an Audio Annotation Clerk, you will listen to audio clips, evaluate voice quality, identify changes in tone or speaker characteristics, and label audio data accurately. This work supports audio analysis and data quality efforts, including projects that may help improve speech recognition, AI training, and audio-based technology.

Key Responsibilities
- Listen to audio recordings and evaluate whether voices, tones, and sound quality are pleasant and clear to the human ear.
- Identify changes in voice, tone, speaker, emotion, or audio quality within clips.
- Apply accurate labels, notes, tags, or classifications based on project guidelines.
- Review audio content carefully to support quality control and data accuracy.
- Maintain focus and consistency while completing repetitive listening and annotation tasks.
- Follow training instructions, workflow standards, and productivity expectations.
Compensation and Benefits
- Pay rate: $18 per hour.
- Job type: Contract/temporary.
- Assignment duration: Tentatively through the end of July, with possible extension.
- Location: Lake Mary, FL.
- Training schedule: 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM.
- Production schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM.
- Hours may be less than 40 per week if work volume is limited.

Required Qualifications and Skills
- Listen to and analyze long audio clips for voice quality, tone, and sound changes.
- Identify shifts in speaker, voice, tone, emotion, or audio characteristics.
- Accurately label, categorize, or document audio findings based on instructions.
- Support audio data review and annotation workflows.
- 3 to 5 years of relevant work experience preferred for this level of role.
- Strong listening skills and the ability to focus for long periods.
- High attention to detail and accuracy when reviewing audio content.
- Ability to recognize subtle changes in voice, tone, clarity, and sound quality.
- Patience and comfort performing detailed, repetitive tasks.
- Good reading comprehension and ability to follow written guidelines.
- Basic typing and computer navigation skills.
- Experience with audio annotation, data labeling, transcription, quality review, or audio editing is helpful.
- Interest in podcasts, audiobooks, voice recordings, or long-form audio content is a strong fit.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with audio editing, transcription, speech-to-text review, speaker labeling, or data annotation.
- Familiarity with tools or platforms such as Audacity, ELAN, Praat, data labeling software, or AI training platforms.
- Experience identifying speaker changes, background noise, tone, emotion, sentiment, or sound events.
- Prior freelance or professional experience as an AI trainer, data labeler, transcriptionist, audio reviewer, or quality assurance reviewer.
