Job Summary
We are seeking Audio Annotation Clerks for a temporary contract opportunity in Lake Mary, FL. This on-site role is ideal for detail-oriented candidates with strong listening skills, experience reviewing audio or text-based content, and an interest in speech recognition, AI data labeling, transcription, or media production.
As an Audio Annotation Clerk, you will review long-form audio recordings, identify speech and sound details, and label audio data according to detailed project guidelines. This is a structured production environment with paid training, clear expectations, and a supportive team setting for candidates who enjoy focused, detail-driven work.
Key Responsibilities
- Listen to audio recordings carefully and analyze speech, sound, tone, and quality details.
- Label and categorize audio data accurately according to detailed project instructions.
- Identify speaker changes, tone shifts, emotions, background noises, and sound events.
- Verify audio quality and ensure annotations meet accuracy and consistency standards.
- Complete repetitive, detail-oriented annotation tasks while meeting productivity goals.
- Follow established procedures and maintain quality in a structured production environment.
Compensation and Benefits
- Pay Rate: $18.00 per hour.
- Job Type: Temporary contract.
- Schedule: Monday through Friday, day shift.
- Training and production hours: 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM.
- Location: On-site in Lake Mary, FL.
- Start Date: Tentatively July 8.
- Paid training provided.
- Hours may vary based on project workload.

Required Qualifications and Skills
- Review and analyze audio recordings to support speech recognition and artificial intelligence data projects.
- Label audio content accurately using detailed annotation guidelines.
- Identify speaker changes, tone shifts, emotions, speech patterns, and background sounds.
- Maintain quality and productivity standards while completing long-form audio review tasks.
- 3 to 5 years of relevant experience in audio annotation, transcription, data annotation, quality assurance, content review, audio editing, media production, linguistics, or similar detail-focused work.
- Strong listening skills with the ability to detect subtle differences in speech, sound, tone, and background audio.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to follow precise instructions consistently.
- Basic computer proficiency and ability to learn annotation software quickly.
- Strong analytical skills, patience, and consistency when reviewing extended audio content.
- Comfortable performing repetitive tasks for extended periods while maintaining accuracy.
- Ability to work on-site in Lake Mary, FL during scheduled day-shift hours.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience with audio annotation, AI data labeling, or speech-to-text transcription.
- Experience with podcast, audiobook, media production, or audio editing workflows.
- Familiarity with audio editing or annotation tools such as Audacity, ELAN, Praat, or similar software.
- Background in quality assurance, content review, linguistics, language-related work, or sound analysis.
- Interest in podcasts, audiobooks, long-form audio, speech recognition, or artificial intelligence data projects.
