Job Summary
We are seeking an Associate Attorney to join a respected medical malpractice defense litigation practice in Winter Park, FL. The Associate Attorney will support and manage medical malpractice defense matters through all phases of litigation, working closely with experienced attorneys, clients, experts, and court personnel. Key Responsibilities
- Manage medical malpractice defense cases through all phases of litigation.
- Conduct legal research and draft pleadings, motions, discovery, memoranda, and other legal documents.
- Take and defend depositions, and participate in hearings, mediations, and court proceedings.
- Communicate professionally with clients, experts, opposing counsel, court personnel, and internal team members.
- Assist with trial preparation, case strategy, expert coordination, and trial support.
- Handle cases with increasing responsibility, sound judgment, and attention to client service.
Compensation and Benefits
- Compensation: $100,000 to $150,000+ base salary per year, commensurate with experience.

Required Qualifications and Skills
- Manage medical malpractice defense litigation matters from case inception through resolution.
- Prepare legal documents, pleadings, motions, discovery, and research memoranda.
- Participate in depositions, hearings, mediations, court proceedings, and trial preparation.
- Communicate with clients, experts, opposing counsel, and court personnel in a professional and effective manner.
- Juris Doctor from an accredited law school.
- Active membership in good standing with the Florida Bar.
- 3-5 years of litigation experience preferred for this opportunity.
- Strong legal research, analytical, drafting, and writing skills.
- Deposition and hearing experience.
- Ability to prepare and submit a writing sample.
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Professional communication skills and a client-service focused approach.
- Team-oriented mindset, strong work ethic, and ability to succeed in a fast-paced litigation environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior medical malpractice defense experience.
- Experience handling healthcare-related litigation, insurance defense, or professional liability matters.
- Trial preparation or trial support experience.
- Ability to manage cases with increasing independence and autonomy.
