Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Air Operations Supervisor for a direct hire opportunity in Grapevine, TX. This role is ideal for an air freight forwarding professional who is ready to combine hands-on import and export shipment operations with front-line team leadership.

The Air Operations Supervisor will oversee daily air freight workflow, support air operations specialists and coordinators, and help ensure shipments are processed accurately, efficiently, and in compliance with TSA, IATA, CBP, and IAC requirements. This position offers exposure to time-sensitive international freight, carrier coordination, customs documentation, operational performance metrics, and team development.

Key Responsibilities

- Supervise daily workflow for air operations specialists and coordinators, including workload assignment, productivity tracking, and operational support.
- Review and process import and export air freight shipments, including air waybills, customs documentation, carrier bookings, and shipment files.
- Serve as the first point of escalation for shipment delays, exceptions, documentation issues, carrier concerns, and customer service needs.
- Train, coach, and onboard air operations team members on procedures, systems, documentation standards, and compliance requirements.
- Monitor key performance indicators such as on-time processing, accuracy, turnaround time, and operational efficiency.
- Coordinate with airlines, ground handlers, truckers, overseas agents, customs brokers, and internal teams to resolve daily operational issues.

Required Qualifications and Skills

- Supervise daily air freight operations workflow and support a team of air operations specialists or coordinators.
- Process air import and export shipments, including AWBs, customs documentation, carrier bookings, and shipment files.
- Resolve shipment exceptions, delays, documentation issues, and carrier or customer escalations.
- Support compliance, KPI tracking, invoice review, reporting, scheduling, and TMS recordkeeping.

- 3+ years of air freight forwarding, logistics, or related transportation operations experience.
- Prior team lead, senior coordinator, or supervisory experience in an air freight environment.
- Strong working knowledge of IATA regulations, air waybills, air freight documentation, and carrier booking processes.
- Familiarity with U.S. customs clearance processes, TSA compliance, IAC requirements, and Known Shipper procedures.
- Proficiency with transportation management systems, airline booking systems, and Microsoft Office.
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Business, or a related field preferred, or equivalent work experience.
- Strong attention to detail, organization, communication, problem-solving, and follow-up skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven air freight operations environment.

Preferred Qualifications

- Prior experience with a global freight forwarder.
- Experience handling or supporting Dangerous Goods Regulations requirements.
- Bilingual English and Mandarin or Cantonese skills are a plus.
