Job Summary

We are seeking a dependable Administrative / Intake Specialist for a temp-to-hire opportunity in a busy health office in Conway, SC. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys helping people, staying organized, and providing professional front-line support to patients and families.

As the first point of contact during the intake process, you will help patients access services while maintaining accuracy, confidentiality, and a calm, respectful approach. Key Responsibilities

- Complete patient registration and intake using internal computer systems.
- Greet patients and families professionally while providing respectful customer service in person and by phone.
- Schedule appointments through scheduling software and assist with appointment check-in when needed.
- Collect and enter patient insurance information accurately as part of the intake process.
- Maintain accurate patient records and update documentation in a timely manner.
- Provide general administrative support, including use of multi-line phones, printer, scanner, fax machine, and filing systems.

Compensation and Benefits

- Pay Rate: $15.00 per hour.
- Job Type: Temp-to-hire with potential permanent opportunities.
- Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM.
- Standard Hours: Approximately 37.5 hours per week, with potential to increase up to 40 hours with manager approval.
- Lunch: Typically 1 hour, though some days may be 30 minutes depending on workload.
- Wednesday Evening Coverage: Facility is open until 7:00 PM on Wednesdays, but administrative staff are generally not required to stay unless needed.
- Work Location: Onsite in Conway, SC.
- Onsite parking and designated break area provided.
- Kitchen amenities include microwave, refrigerator, and toaster.
- Dress Code: Business casual attire required, with jeans permitted on Fridays if appropriate and professional.

Required Qualifications and Skills

- Support front-line patient intake, registration, scheduling, and insurance information entry.
- Maintain accurate patient records and assist with general business office operations.
- Provide respectful customer service to patients and families in a health environment.
- Cover reception duties as needed, including check-in support and coordination with clinical staff.

- Less than 1 year of experience accepted, with prior professional office experience preferred.
- Comfortable using computers, scheduling systems, multi-line phones, printers, scanners, and fax machines.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- High level of reliability, dependability, and adaptability.
- Ability to remain calm, patient, and professional in a busy environment.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work respectfully with individuals experiencing health challenges and with their families.
- Understanding of confidentiality and the importance of protecting patient information.
- Must be able to complete required background check, including DSS check.
- Must be able to complete a 10-panel drug screen.
- TB test required.

Preferred Qualifications

- Prior experience in a medical office, health office, community health center, or healthcare intake environment.
- Experience with patient registration, insurance data entry, scheduling software, or electronic patient records.
- Customer service experience supporting patients, clients, families, or vulnerable populations.
