Job Summary

We are seeking a dependable and compassionate Administrative Assistant to support a busy business office in a behavioral health setting in Conway, SC. This temp-to-hire opportunity is ideal for someone who enjoys helping people, staying organized, and serving as a professional first point of contact for patients and families.

In this Intake/Administrative Specialist role, you will assist children, adolescents, adults, and family members as they begin the process of accessing care. Key Responsibilities

- Welcome patients and families, provide respectful front-line customer service, and support the intake process.
- Complete patient registration, collect insurance information, and enter accurate details into internal computer systems.
- Schedule appointments using office scheduling software and assist with phone coverage, including multi-line phone support.
- Maintain accurate patient records and ensure information is entered in a timely and confidential manner.
- Provide reception coverage as needed, including checking patients in and coordinating with medical assistants, nurses, LPNs, and other staff.
- Perform general administrative tasks such as filing, scanning, faxing, printing, and supporting daily office workflow.

Compensation and Benefits

- Pay rate: $15.00 per hour.- set and final
- Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM.
- Standard schedule is approximately 37.5 hours per week, with the potential to increase up to 40 hours with manager approval.
- Lunch is typically 1 hour, but may be 30 minutes depending on workload.
- Assignment type: Long-term contract with permanent opportunities to apply for as they become available.
- Onsite parking and designated break area provided.
- Dress code: Business casual attire required. Jeans are permitted on Fridays if professional and appropriate.

Required Qualifications and Skills

- Support patient intake, registration, and insurance information collection.
- Answer phones, greet patients, schedule appointments, and provide reception coverage as needed.
- Maintain accurate patient records and update information in computer systems.
- Assist with general office support, including filing, scanning, faxing, printing, and administrative coordination.

- 1 to 2 years of professional office, administrative, customer service, or related experience preferred.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to remain calm, patient, and professional in a busy environment.
- Good computer skills and experience using office equipment such as multi-line phones, printers, scanners, and fax machines.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask and manage details accurately.
- Ability to work respectfully and effectively with individuals experiencing mental health challenges and with their families.
- High level of reliability, dependability, adaptability, and professionalism.
- Must understand the importance of confidentiality when handling patient information.

Preferred Qualifications

- Prior experience in a medical office, behavioral health setting, healthcare intake role, or patient-facing administrative position.
- Experience with patient registration, appointment scheduling, insurance collection, or electronic records systems.
- Previous experience supporting a front desk, reception area, or busy professional office environment.
