Compensation and Benefits

Pay: $16.00 per hour.
Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Job Type: Contract/Temporary.
Assignment Length: Long-term.

Job Summary

We are seeking an Administrative Assistant for a long-term contract opportunity in Lexington, SC. This role provides front-line administrative and receptionist support for a public health program, with a focus on helping clients access services in a professional, organized, and welcoming environment.

The Administrative Assistant will be an important part of the client experience, supporting appointment scheduling, intake processes, data entry, and confidential record management. This is a great opportunity for a detail-oriented administrative professional who enjoys working with the public, values accuracy, and wants to contribute to meaningful community health services.

This position offers a consistent Monday through Friday schedule, a convenient location right off I-20, and the opportunity to work in a structured, mission-driven environment with supportive team members and clear processes.

Key Responsibilities

- Greet, assist, and direct clients according to program and agency guidelines.
- Answer incoming calls, schedule appointments, and help manage client flow for new and existing clients.
- Educate clients on basic program requirements, standards, and next steps.
- Accurately process client information and maintain medical and program records.
- Enter data into agency systems while following confidentiality and privacy requirements.
- Provide general administrative and receptionist support to ensure smooth daily operations.

Required Qualifications and Skills

- Provide front-line receptionist and administrative support for public health clients.

- 1 to 2 years of administrative, clerical, receptionist, customer service, or related experience preferred.
- Strong customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to handle confidential client information with professionalism and discretion.
- Proficiency in data entry, record-keeping, and basic administrative processes.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow established policies and procedures.
- Ability to work effectively with diverse clients in a professional public-facing role.


Preferred Qualifications

- Experience supporting public health, healthcare, social services, government, or community-based programs.
- Previous experience with appointment scheduling, client intake, or medical records.
- Knowledge of WIC or other public health programs is a plus.
