Job Summary

An Activities Coordinator opportunity is available in San Rafael, CA for a candidate who enjoys creating meaningful programs, building relationships, and supporting a vibrant residential community. The Activities Coordinator will plan and promote events, coordinate outings, support resident communications, and serve as a friendly point of contact for activity-related needs. Key Responsibilities

- Research, plan, promote, and implement a variety of resident activities, events, programs, trips, and outings.
- Collaborate with residents, staff, committees, vendors, and performers to align programming with resident interests.
- Prepare monthly activity calendars, weekly reminders, flyers, and event communications.
- Track attendance, maintain activity records, coordinate birthday celebrations, and manage activity-related documentation.
- Coordinate vendors, submit check requests, manage purchase orders, and support budget-related activity processes.
- Provide administrative, front desk, community event, safety meeting, and special project support as needed.

Compensation and Benefits

- Pay rate: $29 per hour.
- Job type: Contract/temporary.
- Location: San Rafael, CA.
- Schedule may include occasional evenings and weekends for events, trips, and outings.



Required Qualifications and Skills

- Plan and coordinate resident activities, programs, events, trips, and community outings.
- Create and distribute calendars, flyers, reminders, and activity communications.
- Maintain activity records, attendance tracking, vendor documentation, and purchase order support.
- Provide resident-facing support and assist with administrative and front desk needs.

- 1 to 2 years of related experience preferred or experience in activities coordination, resident services, customer support, hospitality, or community programs.
- Experience creating and coordinating activities or programs for seniors is preferred.
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, and written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple activities, deadlines, and details in a busy community environment.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and internet-based tools.
- Ability to communicate clearly, patiently, and professionally with elderly residents, staff, vendors, and visitors.
- Ability to lift up to 15 lbs. and walk extensively throughout the community.
- Comfortable working in indoor office and community settings with frequent computer, phone, and in-person interaction.

Preferred Qualifications

- Prior experience in senior living, residential communities, property management, hospitality, recreation programming, or resident services.
- Experience coordinating vendors, performers, outings, transportation logistics, event materials, and activity budgets.
- A warm, service-oriented approach with a genuine interest in supporting resident engagement and quality of life.
