Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Accounting Manager (Japanese-English Bilingual) for a direct hire opportunity in Union City, CA. This role is ideal for a proactive accounting leader who enjoys overseeing full-cycle accounting operations, improving processes, mentoring staff, and partnering closely with executive leadership.

The Accounting Manager will play a key role in financial reporting, budgeting, audit coordination, tax compliance, ERP administration, and overall accounting operations.
The ideal candidate is fluent in Japanese and English, has strong US GAAP knowledge, and brings the leadership skills needed to guide an accounting team while supporting continued business growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage daily accounting operations, including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, General Ledger, inventory costing, financial reporting, and related accounting functions.
- Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, including preparation and review of financial statements in accordance with US GAAP.
- Develop, manage, and monitor budgets, forecasts, financial analysis, and management reporting to support business decisions.
- Coordinate external audits and ensure compliance with sales tax, use tax, payroll tax, property tax, and internal control requirements.
- Oversee ERP and accounting system administration while identifying and implementing process improvements.
- Recruit, train, mentor, and develop accounting staff while partnering with leadership and cross-functional teams.

- Salary range: $100,000 to $110,000 per year.

Required Qualifications and Skills
- Manage full-cycle accounting operations across AP, AR, GL, financial reporting, and inventory costing.
- Lead month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities.
- Coordinate audits, tax compliance, budgeting, forecasting, and management reporting.
- Lead, mentor, and develop accounting team members while improving processes and controls.
- Japanese-English bilingual ability required.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required.
- 7 to 10 years of progressive accounting experience required.
- Minimum 2 to 3 years of accounting management or supervisory experience required.
- Strong knowledge of US GAAP and full-cycle accounting processes.
- Experience with Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, General Ledger, financial statements, and close processes.
- Experience with sales tax, use tax, payroll tax, property tax, audit preparation, and external audit support.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and strong Microsoft Office proficiency.
- Experience using ERP and accounting systems.
- Strong leadership, communication, organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- High level of integrity, professionalism, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities.
Preferred Qualifications
- CPA certification strongly preferred.
- Experience in manufacturing, inventory accounting, or inventory costing preferred.
- Experience working in both Japanese and English business environments preferred.
- Experience supporting strategic planning, performance objectives, and continuous improvement initiatives preferred.
