We are seeking an Accountant I/II to join a well-established accounting and finance team. This opportunity is ideal for an accounting professional who enjoys working with the general ledger, reconciliations, journal entries, financial reporting, fixed assets, and account analysis and is looking for a role with variety and long-term growth potential. What You'll Be Doing
Depending on experience, this position may be filled at the Accountant I or Accountant II level. We are open to candidates who are earlier in their accounting careers as well as experienced accountants who are comfortable independently managing more complex accounting responsibilities.
Prepare and post journal entries and maintain accurate general ledger activity
Reconcile general ledger and subsidiary accounts, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, cash, and fixed assets
Perform bank, balance sheet, and account reconciliations
Research discrepancies, identify errors, and make appropriate corrections
Assist with month-end and year-end close
Prepare financial statements, schedules, reports, and supporting documentation
Analyze revenue and expenditure accounts and investigate unusual activity or variances
Maintain accounting records and ensure transactions are properly supported and recorded
Assist with fixed asset accounting, including additions, depreciation, disposals, and GL reconciliation
Track project-related costs and assist with work-in-progress and project accounting
Monitor expenditures and compare activity against established budgets
Assist with year-end financial reporting and audit-related schedules
Support special accounting projects, financial analysis, and reporting as needed
Partner with other departments to research and resolve accounting questions
Maintain a high level of accuracy while managing multiple priorities and deadlines
What We're Looking For
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field 3+ year of professional accounting experience Strong understanding of general accounting principles and GAAP
Hands-on experience with journal entries, general ledger accounting, and account reconciliations
Strong Excel and overall computer skills
Ability to analyze financial information and identify discrepancies
Experience preparing financial reports and supporting schedules
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Ability to work independently while also collaborating with a larger accounting team
Clear written and verbal communication skills
