We are seeking a dependable Warehouse Support Worker for a temporary public sector election operations assignment in Fort Lauderdale, FL. This role supports a high-volume, deadline-driven warehouse environment where accuracy, organization, and accountability are essential to successful election-cycle operations.
The Warehouse Support Worker will assist with preparing, packing, labeling, verifying, staging, moving, reconciling, and storing precinct supplies, election materials, containers, equipment, and related operational items. Candidates should be detail-oriented, punctual, safety-conscious, and comfortable following established checklists, inventory controls, packing instructions, security procedures, and supervisory direction.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare, organize, assemble, pack, label, verify, stage, distribute, recover, reconcile, and store precinct supplies, election materials, containers, and equipment.
- Accurately follow written and verbal instructions, packing lists, supply lists, labels, checklists, inventory records, and established procedures.
- Count, sort, organize, pack, stage, and reconcile materials while identifying missing, damaged, incorrect, incomplete, excess, misplaced, or inconsistent items.
- Support warehouse and material-handling activities, including movement, positioning, carrying, pushing, pulling, and staging of supplies and materials.
- Follow inventory, security, accountability, safety, and material-handling procedures at all times.
- Promptly report unsafe conditions, workplace incidents, injuries, near misses, equipment concerns, property damage, or security concerns through established procedures.
Compensation and Benefits
- Pay rate: $25.00 per hour.
- Job type: Contract/Temporary.
- Assignment start date: September 28, 2026, subject to completion of required screening, clearance requirements, and confirmation by Human Resources.
- Assignment end date: November 13, 2026.
- Regular work schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
- Extended hours and extended workdays, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, may be required based on election-cycle operational needs.
- All candidates must successfully complete and clear the required criminal background screening and drug screening before beginning the assignment.
- Support warehouse preparation, packing, labeling, staging, distribution, recovery, reconciliation, and storage of election-related materials.
- Accurately count, sort, organize, verify, and reconcile supplies, containers, equipment, and operational items.
- Follow established inventory controls, packing instructions, checklists, safety procedures, and security requirements.
- Report discrepancies, safety concerns, equipment issues, property damage, or security concerns promptly.
- 2 to 5 years of relevant experience is expected.
- Previous experience in warehouse support, logistics, inventory, packing, shipping and receiving, supply preparation, material handling, order fulfillment, or another high-volume operational environment is preferred.
- Must be available for the full assignment from September 28, 2026, through November 13, 2026, without planned interruptions.
- Must be available Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, plus extended hours, evenings, weekends, and holidays as operationally required.
- Ability to accurately follow written and verbal instructions, checklists, labels, inventory information, supply lists, and established procedures.
- Strong attention to detail, organization, accuracy, dependability, and ability to work in a high-volume, deadline-driven environment.
- Ability to use only authorized tools and equipment and comply with applicable instruction, training, and authorization requirements.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and perform applicable bending, reaching, stooping, crouching, repetitive handling, pushing, pulling, carrying, positioning, and movement of supplies and materials.
- Must be punctual, dependable, and able to maintain regular attendance throughout the assignment.
- Must be able to perform the essential functions of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting warehouse, logistics, inventory, shipping and receiving, order fulfillment, packing, or material-handling operations.
- Experience working in a high-volume, deadline-driven environment with strict accuracy, accountability, and procedural requirements.
- Familiarity with supply staging, inventory reconciliation, labeling, packing lists, checklists, and quality verification processes.
