Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Warehouse Associate for a temporary contract opportunity in Ames, IA. This role supports warehouse operations and laboratory production activities within a USDA-licensed facility manufacturing veterinary biological and RNA particle vaccine products.
The Warehouse Associate will work in a highly regulated production environment where accuracy, safety, teamwork, and documentation are essential. This is a strong opportunity for someone with warehouse, manufacturing, material handling, or laboratory support experience who enjoys hands-on work and wants to contribute to meaningful production operations.
This position offers a structured schedule, supportive leadership, team-based work environment, and the opportunity to gain experience in a specialized manufacturing and laboratory setting. Successful candidates will be dependable, adaptable, safety-focused, and comfortable following detailed procedures in an aseptic environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform warehouse and material handling tasks, including unloading trucks, moving materials, picking and putting away products, staging materials, and completing cycle counts.
- Maintain in-process inventory by delivering, organizing, and restocking supplies for warehouse, laboratory, and production work areas.
- Support laboratory production processes, including blending, filling, formulation, media preparation, and supply restocking.
- Assist with RNA particle vaccine production activities in a USDA-licensed facility while following aseptic techniques and sterile procedures.
- Maintain accurate production records, documentation, and training logs in compliance with regulatory, safety, and quality standards.
- Operate material handling equipment such as pallet jacks and safely handle materials, including dry ice, while using required PPE.
Compensation and Benefits
- Pay rate: $20 per hour.
- Schedule: Monday through Thursday, 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM, with Friday mornings as needed to reach 40 hours per week.

Required Qualifications and Skills
- Support warehouse operations, inventory movement, staging, picking, put-away, cycle counts, and material delivery.
- Assist with laboratory production activities, including blending, filling, formulation, aseptic handling, and media preparation.
- Maintain accurate documentation, production records, training logs, and compliance-related records.
- Follow safety, quality, aseptic processing, and PPE requirements in a regulated production environment.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- 2 years of relevant warehouse, manufacturing, laboratory, production, or material handling experience required.
- Ability to work safely in aseptic environments while wearing required PPE.
- Basic mathematical skills and the ability to follow written and verbal instructions accurately.
- Strong attention to detail, organization, and documentation accuracy.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
- Completion of a Physical Abilities Test required.
- Good communication, problem-solving skills, dependable attendance, and a strong work ethic.
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with laboratory or manufacturing procedures.
- Experience in regulated production, pharmaceutical, biotechnology, veterinary biologicals, food production, or life sciences manufacturing environments.
- Experience with aseptic technique, pipetting, pouring media, cell culture support, or sterile production processes.
- Experience operating pallet jacks or similar warehouse material handling equipment.
