We are seeking a Warehouse Assistant Manager for a direct hire opportunity in Jacksonville, FL with an established wholesale HVAC distribution operation. This role is ideal for a hands-on warehouse leader who understands inventory control, shipping and receiving, warehouse safety, and team supervision in a fast-paced distribution environment. The Warehouse Assistant Manager will help lead daily warehouse operations, support customer pick-up and delivery activity, oversee inventory accuracy, and ensure products, parts, and equipment move efficiently through the facility. Responsibilities
- Oversee daily warehouse operations, including receiving, storage, picking, packing, shipping, inventory control, and customer pick-up activity.
- Lead, train, schedule, and support warehouse team members while maintaining productivity, safety, attendance, and performance standards.
- Manage inventory accuracy through cycle counts, annual physical inventory support, bin location maintenance, and inventory control procedures.
- Coordinate with internal departments to meet customer service, shipping, receiving, and order fulfillment expectations.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA safety standards, company policies, equipment handling procedures, and proper forklift and material movement practices.
- Perform hands-on warehouse duties as needed, including forklift operation, order selection, equipment maintenance, and general warehouse support.
Compensation and Benefits
- Job Type: Direct Hire
- Schedule: Full-time, Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
- Flexible hours, including evenings or weekends, may be required as needed.
- Manage daily warehouse operations for shipping, receiving, inventory, storage, picking, packing, and order fulfillment.
- Lead warehouse staff, including training, scheduling, coaching, and performance support.
- Maintain inventory control processes, cycle counts, bin locations, and accurate warehouse records.
- Support safe, efficient movement of HVAC equipment, parts, supplies, and related products.
- 5+ years of warehouse management experience.
- Warehouse operational experience within HVAC, HVAC parts, HVAC equipment, or a related wholesale distribution environment.
- Proficiency with warehouse management systems, inventory control software, and Microsoft Office products.
- Valid forklift certification.
- Strong knowledge of inventory control, order fulfillment, cycle counting, and warehouse process improvement.
- Knowledge of OSHA safety regulations, warehouse safety practices, and equipment handling procedures.
- Proven ability to manage, mentor, train, and develop warehouse employees.
- Mechanical or technical background with familiarity in air conditioning, heating, and ventilation equipment.
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, communication, and customer service skills.
- Ability to prioritize work, meet deadlines, control operational costs, and support daily warehouse productivity.
- Ability to be mobile throughout the warehouse, lift up to 50 pounds occasionally, and work in various temperature conditions.
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate degree or bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Experience in a wholesale HVAC equipment supply house preferred.
- Driver training, appliance lift experience, or additional material handling training preferred.
- Candidates with a growth-oriented attitude and interest in long-term career development are strongly preferred.
