Actively seeking an executive level development manager to head the Mall Development Division at this prestigious Real Estate firm.

Overview:

As the Vice President of Real Estate Mall Development, you will be responsible for leading and overseeing all aspects of the redevelopment process for mall conversions into life, work, play multi-family and retail, ensuring successful execution of projects from conception to completion. You will play a pivotal role in strategizing, planning, and executing real estate development initiatives to drive business growth and profitability. Average redevelopment size is 50 to 70 acres.

Responsibilities:



Strategic Planning: Develop comprehensive strategies for mall redevelopment projects in alignment with company goals and objectives. Identify market opportunities, conduct feasibility studies, and define project scopes.



Site Selection and Acquisition: Lead efforts to identify, evaluate, and acquire suitable sites for mall redevelopment. Conduct thorough due diligence, negotiate purchase agreements, and collaborate with legal and financial teams to finalize transactions.



Project Management: Oversee the entire development process, including design, entitlements, permitting, construction, and leasing. Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in compliance with regulatory requirements.



Team Leadership: Build and lead a high-performing team of professionals including project managers, architects, engineers, leasing agents, and contractors. Provide guidance, mentorship, and support to team members to maximize their potential and achieve project objectives.



Financial Management: Develop and manage project budgets, forecasts, and financial models. Monitor expenses, analyze financial performance, and implement cost-saving measures to optimize project profitability.



Stakeholder Engagement: Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders, external partners, landowners, municipalities, and community stakeholders. Collaborate effectively to address concerns, gain support, and navigate regulatory processes.



Market Analysis: Conduct thorough market research and analysis to identify trends, competitive landscape, and consumer preferences. Use insights to inform decision-making and refine development strategies.


Quality Assurance: Uphold high standards of quality and excellence throughout the development process. Implement best practices, quality control measures, and performance metrics to deliver superior projects that meet or exceed expectations.



Reporting and Communication: Provide regular updates, reports, and presentations to senior management and key stakeholders. Communicate project status, milestones, and key performance indicators to ensure transparency and alignment with organizational objectives.

Candidates with a proven track record of success in real estate development with minimum of 10 years of experience, with a focus on mall or retail projects will be given first consideration for this role.
