We’re looking for a Vacuum Technician to join our client's team and support the build, testing, troubleshooting, and maintenance of vacuum systems used in scientific research and advanced manufacturing. This is a hands-on role ideal for someone who enjoys working with precision equipment and solving complex technical problems.
Key Responsibilities
Assemble, test, maintain, and repair vacuum systems and components according to company standards
Operate and troubleshoot vacuum pumps, leak detectors, gauges, and other precision equipment
Diagnose and resolve issues with high-vacuum (HV) and ultra-high-vacuum (UHV) systems
Perform specialized processes such as vacuum brazing and electron beam testing
Collaborate with engineers on R&D and production initiatives
Maintain accurate documentation for quality control, testing, and maintenance activities
Follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean, contamination-free work environment
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent (technical or vocational training preferred)
2+ years of hands-on experience with high or ultra-high vacuum systems
Experience using vacuum measurement tools (Pirani, cold cathode, ion gauges, gauge tubes)
Knowledge of leak detection methods and equipment
Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings
Strong attention to detail, quality, and safety
Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
Preferred:
Associate degree or higher in mechanical, electrical, or vacuum technology
Experience in cleanroom or semiconductor manufacturing environments
Knowledge of material compatibility and surface preparation for HV/UHV applications
