Job Summary
A growing apparel and consumer products organization in Agoura Hills, CA is seeking a VP Finance/Controller for a direct hire, fully onsite leadership opportunity. Reporting to the President, this role will lead the full finance and accounting function, including accounting operations, FP&A, cash management, financial reporting, internal controls, and strategic finance.
This is an excellent opportunity for a senior finance leader who enjoys partnering closely with executive leadership and influencing business decisions at a high level. The VP Finance/Controller will serve as a key advisor on growth strategy, profitability, capital allocation, inventory investment, working capital, and scalable financial infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead accounting operations, including AP, AR, GL, payroll, revenue recognition, financial close, GAAP reporting, and internal controls.
- Own financial planning and analysis, including annual budgeting, rolling forecasts, long-range planning, financial modeling, and scenario analysis.
- Provide executive leadership with clear financial insights on revenue growth, gross margin, inventory turns, working capital, profitability, and operational performance.
- Manage cash flow forecasting, liquidity planning, banking relationships, credit facility compliance, and working capital optimization.
- Partner with operations, supply chain, merchandising, and executive teams to improve inventory investment, cost of goods sold, pricing decisions, and capital allocation.
- Lead ERP and financial systems improvements, audit readiness, process documentation, and the development of finance and accounting team members.
Compensation and Benefits
- Salary range: $200,000 to $250,000 per year.

Required Qualifications and Skills
- Lead the full accounting and finance function, including controllership, FP&A, reporting, cash management, and strategic finance.
- Build financial models, budgets, forecasts, dashboards, and executive reporting packages to support business decisions.
- Drive financial controls, close process improvements, audit readiness, ERP optimization, and scalable finance operations.
- Partner cross-functionally with leadership, operations, supply chain, and merchandising teams to improve profitability and working capital efficiency.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field required. CPA, MBA preferred.
- 10 to 15+ years of progressive experience in accounting and finance leadership roles.
- Proven ability to lead both Controller-level accounting functions and FP&A or strategic finance functions.
- Strong knowledge of US GAAP, financial reporting, internal controls, and regulatory compliance.
- Experience managing external auditors, tax advisors, banking partners, lenders, and outsourced finance partners.
- Strong financial modeling, budgeting, forecasting, KPI reporting, and business analysis skills.
- Experience building, scaling, and improving financial systems, ERP processes, reporting tools, and finance team structures.
- Strong leadership, communication, executive presence, analytical thinking, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- CPA and/or MBA preferred.
- Apparel industry background strongly desired but manufacturing and distribution will be considered.
- Experience in apparel, retail, consumer products, clothing manufacturing, or textile manufacturing preferred.
- Experience supporting inventory-heavy businesses with complex costing, gross margin analysis, inventory turns, and working capital management.
- Experience developing finance and accounting teams in a growth-oriented business environment.
