Job Title: Construction Superintendent (Tri-Hat)
Location: VA Hospital Long Beach
Job Type: Full-Time

Job Description:
Our company, recognized for excellence in federal contracting, is seeking a seasoned Construction Superintendent (Tri-Hat) to oversee projects at the VA Hospital in Long Beach. The ideal candidate will bring extensive experience in federal construction, particularly with the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), and demonstrate strong leadership, project management, and safety compliance capabilities.


Responsibilities:

Serve as Tri-Hat Superintendent, using Procore daily for all field documentation including RFIs, submittals, daily reports, QC logs, as-builts, and safety records.

Provide real-time updates to the three-week lookahead schedule and maintain accurate schedule documentation and compliance using Procore.

Manage weekly schedule updates, including three-week lookahead and lean board activities.

Coordinate crew workers, subcontractors, and suppliers in partnership with the Project Manager and customer to ensure timely and budget-conscious completion.

Ensure jobsite safety by implementing and maintaining federal safety regulations, promoting a safety-first culture.

Conduct regular inspections to monitor progress, address challenges, and apply corrective measures as needed.

Work closely with architects, engineers, and stakeholders to address design, constructability, and technical issues.

Lead, mentor, and support the construction team to foster a positive and collaborative work environment.


Requirements:

Minimum 5 years of experience as a Construction Superintendent on federal projects, with specific experience on VA projects.

OSHA 30 certification required; USACE EM 385-1 certification is a plus.

Familiarity with ICRA standards and VA permit processing.

Proven track record in tenant improvements with successful project delivery.

Deep understanding of VA specifications, processes, and standards.

Proficiency with Microsoft 365 and Procore for managing schedules, documents, and communication.

Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to coordinate with a wide range of project stakeholders.

Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to inspire and manage teams.


Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with hospital environments and healthcare projects.

Familiarity with HVAC, electrical systems, drywall, framing, and painting.

QCM (Quality Control Management) training or certification.


Compensation & Benefits:

Salary Range: $90,000 - $105,000 annually
