Senior UX Research Contractor
Status: Open
Employment Type: Temporary / Contract
Experience Level: Senior (6–10 years)
About the Role
We’re seeking a Senior UX Research Contractor who can independently drive high-impact research across the full product lifecycle—from foundational discovery to evaluative testing. In this role, you’ll partner closely with Product, Design, Data Science, Legal/Compliance, and Engineering to inform strategic decisions and optimize user experiences in an emerging space that blends financial behavior with sports fandom.
You’ll own and execute mixed-methods research to uncover customer needs, identify friction points, validate concepts, and guide product direction. This role requires deep curiosity about sports prediction behaviors and the emotional, cognitive, and trust-related drivers that shape engagement with event contracts and prediction-based trading.
This is an opportunity to help shape a new product category by delivering research that is rigorous, actionable, and grounded in real customer insight.
Example Projects
Conduct foundational research to understand sports prediction mindsets and motivations
Lead end-to-end usability evaluations of prediction and trading flows
Evaluate onboarding and educational experiences
Perform cross-sport behavioral analyses to understand how prediction behaviors vary by sport
Conduct competitive UX benchmarking across sports and prediction platforms
What You Bring
5+ years of UX research experience, with substantial industry experience across the product development lifecycle
Strong mixed-methods expertise, including qualitative and quantitative approaches such as interviews, usability testing, diary studies, surveys, competitive analysis, and concept validation
Sports domain expertise through professional experience or deep personal/analytical knowledge of sports behavior, fandom, and engagement patterns
Proven ability to translate ambiguous product questions into clear research plans, methods, and deliverables
Experience collaborating cross-functionally with Product, Design, Engineering, and Data Science teams
Excellent synthesis and storytelling skills, with the ability to influence product direction through clear, compelling insights
Comfort working autonomously in fast-paced environments where adaptability and speed are essential
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in prediction markets, gaming, fintech, or other highly regulated domains
Familiarity with behavioral economics, decision science, or risk-based user behavior
Experience designing research for early-stage, experimental, or 0-to-1 products
Comfort partnering with analytics teams to integrate qualitative and quantitative insights into cohesive recommendations
