Job Summary
Seeking a Typography Designer to support product development and commercial art production. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented artist or designer who enjoys typography, illustration, layout, color, and creating artwork across a wide range of styles.
The Typography Designer will work closely with creative leadership to turn written direction into original artwork for physical and digital product applications. This is a strong opportunity to join a collaborative art department with supportive direction, consistent project flow, and room to build a long-term career path through a temp-to-hire assignment. The environment is fast-paced, team-oriented, and well-suited for a designer who takes feedback well, stays organized, and enjoys seeing creative work move into production.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the Art Director to create original artwork, typography, illustrations, and product-focused designs.
- Translate written creative direction into compelling artwork using digital and traditional techniques.
- Perform photo retouching, recoloring, color correction, resizing, and image preparation for production.
- Create artwork in multiple styles, including typography, illustrative, painterly, and trend-driven design approaches.
- Maintain organized digital files, records, and artwork assets while assisting with database management.
- Support physical product samples with occasional hand-painted embellishments as needed.
Compensation and Benefits
- Pay range: $25.00 to $32.00 per hour.
- Job type: Full-time
- Schedule/work arrangement: 8-5pm Monday - Friday, Onsite role with reliable commute to the Bell Gardens, CA office required.

Required Qualifications and Skills
- Create original typography, illustration, and digital artwork for product development.
- Prepare, recolor, retouch, and manipulate images for production use.
- Manage multiple creative projects while meeting deadlines and shifting priorities.
- Collaborate with creative leadership and apply artistic direction accurately.
- Strong digital art, illustration, drawing, and typography skills.
- Advanced proficiency in Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator.
- Expert understanding of layout, composition, visual hierarchy, and color application.
- Experience with photo retouching, recoloring, and color correction.
- Solid understanding of RGB and CMYK color spaces.
- Experience hand-painting in acrylic, including color mixing and color matching.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
- Strong attention to detail, organization, communication, collaboration, and time management skills.
- Ability to interpret market trends and translate them into original commercial artwork.
- 2+ years of professional experience as a Designer, Artist, or related creative role.
- A portfolio or website link is required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with the Pantone color system.
- Experience in home décor, consumer products, or product-based manufacturing.
- Ability to work across a wide range of artistic styles, subjects, and techniques.
- Experience supporting artwork from concept through production-ready files.
