We’re seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Traveler Work Order Technician to generate, review, and manage traveler work instructions, critical documents that guide products through the manufacturing process. This role plays a key part in ensuring accuracy, quality compliance, and first-pass yield (FPY) throughout production.
Job Summary
The Traveler Work Order Technician is responsible for creating and reviewing traveler work instructions by interpreting schematics and blueprint designs. This role ensures all manufacturing steps, materials, inspections, and quality checkpoints are clearly documented and verified prior to material buy-off.
Key Responsibilities
Inspection
Visually inspect materials for quantity verification, cosmetic condition, and dimensional accuracy
Verification
Verify material compliance with engineering drawings, specifications, purchase orders, and internal quality standards
Documentation
Perform digital data entry of cleaning and process specifications based on customer schematics and blueprints
Ensure traveler work instructions are complete, accurate, and aligned with FPY requirements
Test Reports
Review and authenticate test reports and certifications for completeness and compliance
Material Handling
Stage, tag, and release accepted material to the next department
Communication
Communicate inspection and traveler data clearly via internal email and systems
Follow written and verbal instructions accurately to completion
Skills & Experience Required
Associate’s degree or minimum of 3 years of experience in a quality assurance or manufacturing role
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
Strong ability to read and interpret schematics and blueprint designs
Experience implementing quality checkpoints in a production environment
Strong attention to detail with accountability for FPY traveler work instructions
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities
Manufacturing industry experience in semiconductor, medical, aerospace, automotive, or equivalent
Proficient in English (written and verbal)
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
