Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Training Specialist, also known as an Instructional Designer / Technical Training Specialist, for a contract opportunity in Azusa, CA. This role is ideal for a learning and development professional who enjoys creating practical, engaging training programs that help employees successfully adopt new technologies, systems, and processes.
In this role, you will partner with business leaders, subject matter experts, vendors, and project teams to design instructor-led, virtual, and eLearning solutions. Key Responsibilities
- Conduct training needs assessments, job analyses, and task analyses to identify learning requirements.
- Design and develop instructor-led, virtual, and eLearning training materials, including presentations, job aids, user guides, and interactive modules.
- Translate complex technical concepts into clear, user-friendly training content for diverse employee audiences.
- Collaborate with stakeholders, subject matter experts, vendors, and project teams to align training deliverables with business goals.
- Facilitate train-the-trainer sessions, support course delivery, and provide guidance to trainers and end users.
- Manage multiple training projects, maintain learning documentation, and evaluate training effectiveness.
Compensation and Benefits
- Salary range: $75,000 to $81,000 per year.

Required Qualifications and Skills
- Design and develop training programs for technology or software implementation initiatives.
- Create instructor-led, virtual, and eLearning content that supports employee adoption and performance.
- Manage training deliverables, timelines, documentation, and stakeholder communication across multiple projects.
- Facilitate training sessions, train-the-trainer programs, and learning support activities.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience.
- 5+ years of instructional design and technical training experience, with 6-10 years of experience strongly aligned to this role.
- Strong knowledge of adult learning principles and instructional design models, including ADDIE and SAM.
- Experience supporting technology, system, or software implementation projects.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Experience with eLearning development tools such as Articulate Storyline, Articulate Rise, Adobe Captivate, or Camtasia.
- Experience using SnagIt or similar screen capture and documentation tools.
- Strong project management, communication, organization, and stakeholder collaboration skills.
- Ability to simplify technical information and create clear, practical learning resources for end users.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in the utility, energy, or regulated industry environment.
- Experience working in Agile project environments.
- Experience developing training for SAP or Salesforce systems.
- Familiarity with Visio and SharePoint.
- Experience supporting enterprise technology rollouts or large-scale business transformation initiatives.
