We are seeking an experienced Totani Operator for an opportunity in Pomona, CA. This role is ideal for a skilled manufacturing professional with strong flexographic machine operation experience and hands-on knowledge of Totani pouch-making equipment.
The Totani Operator will play a key role in producing high-quality pouches while maintaining safety, efficiency, and production standards. Key Responsibilities
- Set up, operate, adjust, clean, and maintain Totani equipment to meet production, quality, and safety standards.
- Verify tooling, materials, job tickets, and production requirements before starting each setup or changeover.
- Run production jobs at high speed while minimizing waste, spoilage, downtime, and quality issues.
- Inspect and test pouch samples throughout production runs to ensure customer specifications and company standards are met.
- Properly label finished products, complete required forms and reports, and enter accurate production information in Label Traxx.
- Support team development by providing technical guidance, training, and continuous improvement recommendations.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- Operate Totani pouch-making equipment and support flexographic production operations.
- Perform setup, changeover, troubleshooting, routine maintenance, and quality checks.
- Inspect finished pouches, pull samples, verify specifications, and make machine adjustments as needed.
- Complete production documentation, labeling, job reports, and system entries accurately.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Five or more years of experience in flexo machine operations, including Totani Press experience.
- Knowledge of general pressroom operations and folding and gluing production processes.
- Ability to read, understand, and follow written instructions, job tickets, production specifications, and customer requirements.
- Strong math skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, decimals, units of measure, and accurate counting.
- Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, internet, email, and in-house production systems.
- Ability to accurately complete job-generated forms, reports, and entries in Label Traxx.
- Strong understanding of production methods, systems, quality standards, and continuous improvement processes.
- Color vision acuity required to identify customer color codes and quality requirements.
- Excellent problem-solving, time management, planning, organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
- Ability to follow all safety protocols, including proper use of personal protective equipment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bilingual English and Spanish communication skills.
- Prior hands-on experience operating Totani pouch-making equipment in a high-speed production environment.
- Experience training or guiding other production employees.
- Strong background in reducing waste, improving setup times, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
