Test Engineer

A local client is looking to hire a skilled Test Engineer to join their Production Engineering or Service Department. This is a great opportunity for a detail-oriented engineering professional with experience in test planning, implementation, troubleshooting, and technical documentation across both hardware and software platforms.

Position Overview

The Test Engineer will be responsible for configuring the appropriate systems and combinations of tests necessary to efficiently meet product testing requirements while thoroughly documenting testing procedures, results, and analysis.

This individual will design, implement, and support software download, pre-burn, run-in, and post-burn testing processes for multiple products. The Test Engineer will also assist with defining test equipment and fixtures, verifying new tests and customer-specific bundles prior to implementation, and providing test-related training and technical support to internal teams.

Key Responsibilities
Plan, implement, and execute product testing activities to verify performance, functionality, reliability, and quality.
Define, organize, and implement detailed tests across a variety of hardware and software platforms.
Configure appropriate systems, equipment, and combinations of tests based on product requirements.
Design and implement testing processes, including:
Software downloads
Pre-burn testing
Run-in testing
Post-burn testing
Define and support test equipment, tools, and fixtures.
Verify new testing procedures and customer-specific bundles prior to implementation.
Analyze test results and identify errors, inconsistencies, or potential product issues.
Write detailed error reports, test specifications, procedures, and supporting technical documentation.
Perform configuration management of test specifications and procedures.
Troubleshoot test-related issues and provide technical support as needed.
Provide test-related training and guidance to Production, Service, and other internal teams.
Collaborate with Engineering, Production, Quality, and Service departments to resolve testing concerns and improve processes.
Maintain accurate documentation of test procedures, results, configurations, and corrective actions.
Qualifications & Skills
Previous experience in Test Engineering, Production Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, electronics testing, or a related technical field.
Experience planning, implementing, and executing product tests.
Experience defining and performing detailed testing to verify product performance and quality.
Knowledge of both hardware and software testing environments.
Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
Experience writing test specifications, error reports, and other technical documentation.
Familiarity with configuration management processes and procedures.
Ability to analyze testing results and clearly communicate findings.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams.
Experience in a manufacturing or production environment is a plus.
Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate is a hands-on, analytical, and detail-oriented Test Engineer who enjoys troubleshooting and developing efficient testing solutions. They will be comfortable working across hardware and software platforms, analyzing technical issues, documenting findings, and collaborating with multiple departments to ensure products consistently meet established performance and quality standards.
