Territory Sales Manager

Are you an experienced bakery industry sales professional looking to expand your territory and grow strategic accounts across the U.S. and Canada? We are seeking a driven and relationship-focused Territory Sales Manager to develop new business, maintain existing accounts, and increase profitability across a multi-state and cross-border region.
Position Overview
This role is responsible for developing and promoting company products and services within the assigned territory (Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, Massachusetts, and Canada). The ideal candidate will live near the Canadian border and be comfortable traveling throughout the region to support customers and grow market share.
You will build long-term partnerships, identify new sales opportunities, support dealers, and serve as a key point of contact for technical and operational questions.
Key Responsibilities
Sales & Business Development
Identify and pursue new sales opportunities within the territory
Develop and execute strategic sales plans aligned with company goals
Conduct sales presentations and introduce promotional products
Determine customer needs, budgets, and create customized proposals
Follow up on quotes, leads, referrals, and trade show contacts
Maintain and grow relationships with existing customers
Provide weekly activity and call reports to management
Submit semiannual action plans and travel schedules
Customer Support & Account Management
Serve as primary point of contact for customer inquiries and technical questions
Coordinate with maintenance and technical departments for after-sales support
Process orders and provide pricing, shipping, and service updates
Resolve customer concerns and ensure smooth transactions
Perform collection activities for delinquent accounts when necessary
Marketing & Industry Engagement
Participate in trade shows, seminars, and industry events
Monitor market trends and provide feedback to management
Maintain updated customer profiles and territory data
Develop marketing materials for presentations
Qualifications
Required
Proven experience in bakery industry sales
Strong territory management and relationship-building skills
Ability to travel throughout Northern U.S. and Canada
Valid driver’s license
U.S. Passport (required for cross-border travel)
Preferred
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
Experience working with dealers and technical sales environments
