Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated Telesales Agent for a contract/temporary opportunity in Clearwater, FL. This role is ideal for a licensed insurance sales professional who enjoys helping individuals compare health insurance options, identify the right plan for their needs, and complete enrollments in a fast-paced call center environment.
As a Telesales Agent, you will primarily handle inbound calls from prospective and current customers, with some outbound follow-up to close sales and support marketing campaigns. This opportunity offers a professional, goal-oriented environment where training, compliance, teamwork, and customer-focused selling are key to success. Candidates who are self-directed, personable, and driven to exceed sales goals will have the opportunity to build valuable experience in health insurance telesales.
Key Responsibilities
- Present and explain recommended health insurance product solutions, including plan benefits, features, services, and processes.
- Generate sales through qualified inbound calls and outbound follow-up opportunities based on campaign and client expectations.
- Identify customer needs, overcome buying obstacles, and help customers select appropriate health coverage solutions.
- Cross-sell prospects on available product offerings while delivering a knowledgeable and professional customer experience.
- Follow compliant sales scripts, document customer interactions, and complete required application paperwork accurately.
- Research and resolve customer issues, disputes, and questions within established guidelines while supporting first-call resolution.

- Pay rate: $20 to $23.00 per hour.

Required Qualifications and Skills
- Assist individuals in identifying and enrolling in health insurance products that meet their needs.
- Handle primarily inbound sales calls, with outbound calls required for follow-up, lead conversion, and campaign support.
- Present product recommendations, respond to customer inquiries, and support a smooth, compliant sales process.
- Achieve sales goals, retention expectations, service levels, and other company and client-driven metrics.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Active Florida 2-40 or 2-15 license, or state equivalent health insurance license, required.
- Ability to successfully complete assigned product training.
- Ability to successfully complete required background screening and fingerprinting.
- 1 to 2 years of relevant experience preferred for this level of role.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to build trust and rapport with customers.
- Proficient typing skills and ability to navigate technology systems, websites, and email.
- Experience listening to customer needs and applying information to comparable selling situations.
- Self-directed, goal-oriented, ambitious, and comfortable working toward sales targets.
- Ability to receive feedback, follow direction, adapt to role changes, and remain flexible in a call center environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- 1 year of commissioned or bonused sales experience.
- 1 year of call center experience.
- 1 year of health insurance experience.
- Well-developed interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Experience working independently and as part of a team.
