Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Technology Asset Manager/ Software License Compliance professional for a direct hire opportunity in Charlotte, NC within the banking and consumer lending industry. This role supports enterprise Software Asset Management and Software License Compliance activities, helping ensure software assets are accurately tracked, properly licensed, contractually compliant, and optimized for cost and risk reduction.
The Technology Asset Manager/ Software License Compliance role is ideal for a detail-oriented technology professional who enjoys license compliance analysis, contract interpretation, software data research, and cross-functional collaboration. Key Responsibilities
- Perform software license compliance analysis and apply licensing rules to determine compliance positions across vendor agreements.
- Support software license reconciliations for strategic and non-strategic vendors, including analysis of deployment, entitlement, and usage data.
- Analyze software contracts, licensing agreements, renewal terms, certifications, maintenance terms, restrictions, and entitlements.
- Research and troubleshoot software asset data quality issues across discovery, inventory, entitlement, catalog, and lifecycle sources.
- Utilize ServiceNow and other web-based workflow or reconciliation tools to execute SAM, SLC, compliance tracking, and documentation processes.
- Assist with internal and external software audits, vendor certification requests, audit readiness, and identification of license optimization opportunities.

Required Qualifications and Skills
- Perform enterprise Software Asset Management and Software License Compliance analysis.
- Support software contract interpretation, license reconciliation, and audit readiness activities.
- Research, troubleshoot, and improve software asset data quality across multiple tools and sources.
- Execute SAM and SLC workflows using ServiceNow and web-based workflow or reconciliation tools.
- 5+ years of technology experience.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience with Software Asset Management, IT Asset Management, or software license compliance functions.
- Working knowledge of software license models, compliance concepts, software contract analysis, and data analysis.
- Ability to interpret software contracts, licensing terms, usage rights, restrictions, entitlements, and maintenance obligations.
- Experience applying software license rules to operational scenarios and compliance positions.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to troubleshoot data discrepancies and support reconciliation activities.
- Proficiency with Microsoft tools, including Excel and PowerPoint.
- Demonstrated Artificial Intelligence knowledge and experience using tools such as Claude, Microsoft Copilot, Copilot Studio, Gemini, Tachyon, or similar platforms.
- Ability to communicate effectively and influence stakeholders across organizational levels, including senior management.
- Strong attention to detail, process discipline, documentation skills, and problem-solving ability.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certified Software Asset Manager, CSAM, certification or equivalent SAM-related training.
- Prior Software Asset Management or License Management experience in an enterprise environment.
- Experience supporting or managing medium-scale technology efforts within a major line of business.
- Experience identifying license optimization, cost savings, and compliance risk reduction opportunities.
- Familiarity with software catalog accuracy, lifecycle tracking, extended support analysis, and vendor audit preparation.
