Job Summary
We are seeking a Technical Assistant for a direct hire opportunity outside of Charlotte with a growing manufacturing operation. This is a hands-on, detail-oriented role supporting company leadership and multiple operating divisions, with a strong focus on sourcing parts, supporting repair operations, managing purchase orders, and helping keep production and service workflows moving efficiently.
Ideal for someone who is mechanically inclined, understands machine parts and equipment systems, and enjoys solving problems across procurement, inventory, customer service, and repair coordination. The right candidate will enjoy variety, take ownership of details, and be comfortable working in a smaller manufacturing setting where collaboration, persistence, and practical problem-solving make a daily impact. Key Responsibilities
- Source and procure replacement parts for machinery, equipment, and repair service needs.
- Troubleshoot part requirements, review technical information, and locate replacement components when repairs cannot be completed internally.
- Create, enter, and track purchase orders, sales orders, inventory receipts, invoices, and related documentation.
- Review mechanical drawings, equipment specifications, work orders, and bills of materials to support repair and service jobs.
- Coordinate customer orders, equipment intake, outsourced repairs, repair status updates, vendor issues, and shipping discrepancies.
- Maintain accurate vendor, customer, parts, inventory, and order records while supporting operations across multiple departments and divisions.
Compensation and Benefits
- Salary range: $60,000 to $75,000 per year.

Required Qualifications and Skills
- Support sourcing, purchasing, and tracking of machine and equipment parts.
- Coordinate repair support activities, customer orders, outsourced repairs, and vendor follow-up.
- Maintain accurate purchase orders, sales orders, inventory records, invoices, and system data.
- Assist with technical documentation, equipment specifications, drawings, and repair-related materials.
- 1 to 2 years of relevant experience in manufacturing, technical support, procurement, operations support, or a related environment.
- Mechanically inclined with an understanding of machine parts, equipment components, and how systems work.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, work orders, equipment specifications, and technical documents.
- Comfortable using CAD or reviewing CAD-related drawings.
- Computer savvy with proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel and Word.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities, daily deadlines, and detailed order information.
- Strong communication and customer service skills with the ability to work professionally with customers, vendors, and internal teams.
- Self-motivated, persistent, reliable, and able to work efficiently in a fast-paced manufacturing or service environment.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow through on orders, discrepancies, and repair status updates.
- Reliable transportation and a strong attendance record.
Preferred Qualifications
- Engineering technology background or technical education related to manufacturing, mechanical systems, or industrial equipment.
- Procurement experience in a manufacturing, repair, or production operations environment.
- Experience with QuickBooks for accounting-related entries or order support.
- Experience with Fishbowl inventory management software.
- Prior accounting experience or exposure to invoicing, billing, receipts, and purchase order reconciliation.
- Experience adding and managing parts within an inventory system.
- Prior customer service experience in a technical, manufacturing, or repair-related environment.
- Bilingual communication skills.
