  • Bakersfield, 93309

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Technical Account Manager to support and grow an established portfolio of client accounts within the technology services industry. This opportunity is ideal for a relationship-driven professional who understands technical solutions, enjoys building long-term partnerships, and has a proven ability to identify opportunities for account growth.

This is a consultative, relationship-focused sales position rather than a traditional cold-calling or new-business development role. The successful candidate will work closely with existing customers to understand their needs, recommend appropriate technology solutions, and expand business through cross-selling and upselling opportunities.

Key Responsibilities

Manage and maintain strong relationships with an established portfolio of client accounts.

Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned customers, providing exceptional service and ongoing account support.

Identify opportunities to cross-sell and upsell technology solutions, consulting services, and infrastructure-related services.

Develop an understanding of client business needs and recommend solutions that align with their goals.

Collaborate with internal technical teams to coordinate assessments, project recommendations, and service offerings.

Educate customers on available programs, services, and potential funding opportunities.

Develop a working knowledge of industry-specific funding programs and assist clients in understanding available resources.

Maintain accurate account records, track opportunities, and monitor account growth.

Support customer retention efforts and contribute to overall revenue objectives.

Participate in occasional client meetings, industry conferences, and business-related travel.

Qualifications

3–10 years of experience in account management, B2B sales, inside sales, or technical sales preferred.

Previous experience in IT services, telecommunications, technology consulting, networking, or a related technical industry strongly preferred.

Proven success managing existing accounts and developing long-term client relationships.

Experience identifying and closing cross-selling and upselling opportunities.

Ability to understand technical services and communicate solutions effectively to customers.

Strong communication, relationship-building, and problem-solving skills.

Excellent organizational and time-management abilities.

Comfortable working independently in a remote environment.

Proficiency with CRM systems, Microsoft Office, and other business technology.

Willingness to travel occasionally for meetings, conferences, and business needs.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience working with managed IT services, network infrastructure, telecommunications, or technology consulting.

Familiarity with low-voltage systems, structured cabling, or technology assessments.

Experience supporting educational institutions, government organizations, or other institutional clients.

Experience with consultative selling and solution-based account management.

Ability to collaborate effectively with technical specialists, engineers, and project teams.

Compensation & Benefits

Competitive base salary plus commission.

Compensation structure is primarily base salary, with additional earning potential through commissions.

Primarily remote work arrangement.

Opportunity to manage and grow an established client portfolio.

Long-term career growth within the technology services industry.

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate is a self-motivated, customer-focused professional who enjoys maintaining strong business relationships and identifying opportunities to provide additional value to existing accounts.

We are looking for someone who combines technical knowledge, consultative sales experience, and exceptional account management skills to drive customer satisfaction and continued business growth.

If you have a background in technology sales or account management and are looking for an opportunity to grow established client relationships, we encourage you to apply!
