Tax Senior – San Rafael, CA (Hybrid)

Salary: $125,000 – $145,000 per year
Schedule: Hybrid (2 days remote, non-consecutive)

About the Role

We’re seeking an experienced Tax Senior to join a well-established public accounting firm in the Novato/San Rafael area. The ideal candidate will have extensive public accounting experience, a strong technical tax background, and a collaborative approach to client relationships. Key Responsibilities:

Prepare Individual, Corporate, Partnership, Estate, and Trust tax returns.

Conduct tax research and stay current on tax law updates and compliance changes.

Manage multiple complex tax projects and meet deadlines efficiently.

Review and ensure accuracy of financial data and tax documents.

Collaborate with junior and senior staff, providing guidance and mentorship when needed.

Communicate directly with clients, maintaining strong, professional relationships.

Support tax planning and strategy discussions with partners and clients.


Qualifications:

7+ years of experience in public accounting, with a focus on tax.

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (required).

EA or CPA license preferred.

Strong technical tax knowledge and analytical skills.

Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.

Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.

Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.

Must successfully pass a background check.
