Maryland Client is seeking an experienced Tax Manager to join their team in a hybrid capacity. The Tax Manager will provide expert tax advisory services, oversee technical reviews, and manage multiple client engagements across various industries.

This role combines technical tax expertise with leadership, client management, and practice development responsibilities. The ideal candidate is a CPA or Member of the Bar with extensive experience in corporate and partnership tax, strong communication skills, and the ability to thrive in a collaborative, client-focused environment.

The Tax Manager will provide expert tax advisory services and technical reviews for clients across diverse industries and conduct tax research and planning, offering innovative solutions to complex tax issues.

In this role you will develop expertise in a specialty tax area and contribute to the firm’s overall technical knowledge, utilize tax software such as UltraTax, CCH, and Engagement to streamline tax processes and ensure accuracy and lead and manage multiple tax engagements, ensuring quality and timely completion.

The Tax Manger will oversee a portfolio of clients proactively, addressing tax and financial needs, oversee billing, collection, budgeting, and deadline monitoring.
Build and maintain strong client relationships, identifying opportunities to provide additional services.

Train, mentor, and supervise staff, fostering a collaborative and supportive team environment.

Provide constructive feedback to support team members’ professional growth.
Serve as a role model by demonstrating strong leadership and technical expertise.
Support business development by identifying new service opportunities with existing and prospective clients.

Contribute to the firm’s growth through recruiting, training, and process improvements.
Maintain compliance with AICPA and GAGAS standards, ensuring independence and ethical practices.

Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; Master’s in Taxation preferred.
CPA license or Member of the Bar required.
Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in corporate and partnership tax, preferably in a public accounting firm.
Proficiency with tax software and accounting tools (e.g., CCH Axcess, Thomson Reuters UltraTax) strongly preferred.
Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
Valid driver’s license or reliable transportation required.
