Tax Manager / Director of Corporate Tax
Location: Hybrid (with weekly in-office collaboration in Murray, UT)
Company: Publicly traded technology company
Make the Move from Public Accounting
We’re looking for an experienced tax professional to lead corporate tax compliance, reporting, and planning. Depending on experience, you’ll join at the Manager or Director level — either way, you’ll have a seat at the table, real impact on the business, and a healthier balance between work and life.
What You’ll Do
Lead the company’s tax function, serving as the internal go-to tax expert.
Prepare and/or review federal, state, and local corporate income and franchise tax filings (including consolidated returns and multistate compliance).
Manage quarterly and annual tax provisions and ASC 740 reporting.
Partner with outside tax advisors to ensure accuracy and compliance.
Provide strategic tax guidance to senior management on transactions, acquisitions, and business initiatives.
Identify tax savings opportunities, including credits such as R&D and FICA rebates.
Support tax audits and represent the company with taxing authorities when needed.
Collaborate closely with accounting, finance, and legal teams in a flat, entrepreneurial environment.
What We’re Looking For
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Tax (required); Master’s in Tax or Accounting preferred.
Credentials: CPA (licensed or in progress).
Experience:
5–10 years of progressive tax experience.
3–4 years in public accounting (Big 4 or reputable regional firm preferred).
Corporate tax experience in a publicly traded or complex private company a plus.
Strong knowledge of ASC 740 and corporate tax compliance.
SaaS/technology industry exposure is helpful but not required.
A balance of hands-on technical ability and strategic mindset.
Someone who enjoys taking ownership, but also values collaboration.
Why This Role Stands Out
Impact & Ownership: Be the tax leader — not just one of many managers in a large firm.
Work-Life Balance: We respect deadlines, but we also respect your time.
Visibility: Direct access to senior leadership and meaningful influence on company strategy.
Growth: Opportunity to step into a Director-level role as you grow with the company.
Compensation & Benefits
Base Salary: $140,000 – $170,000 (commensurate with experience).
Bonus Opportunity: Up to 30% of salary based on performance.
Equity: $30,000 in stock grants, vesting over three years.
Additional Discretionary Bonus: Up to $50,000 based on Board approval.
Home Office Stipend: $300 per month.
Time Off: 3 weeks paid vacation + 7 paid holidays/personal days.
Benefits: Comprehensive package including medical, dental, vision, disability, life insurance, 401(k) with match, ESPP, and more.
