Position Overview
A professional services firm is seeking an experienced and proactive Tax Manager to oversee tax operations, ensure regulatory compliance, and deliver high-quality tax planning and preparation services to clients. This role requires strong technical tax expertise paired with leadership ability, strategic thinking, and a commitment to exceptional client service. Key Responsibilities
Tax Preparation & Review
- Prepare and review complex individual, corporate, partnership, and trust tax returns.
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations.
- Oversee the tax preparation workflow to maintain high accuracy, efficiency, and quality.
Tax Planning
- Develop and execute tax-efficient strategies tailored to each client’s financial goals.
- Advise clients on tax implications related to personal and business decisions.
- Research changes in tax laws and regulations to provide current and accurate recommendations.
Team Leadership & Development
-Lead, mentor, and support a team of tax professionals.
-Provide training, coaching, and skill-building opportunities to promote ongoing development.
-Monitor workload, performance, and deadlines to ensure strong execution across the team.
Client Relationship Management
-Build and maintain trusted client relationships through excellent service and communication.
-Conduct client meetings to review returns, discuss tax strategies, and understand financial objectives.
- Address client questions and concerns promptly while providing clear and effective solutions.
Operational Excellence
-Partner with operations leadership to improve processes and optimize workflow.
-Utilize firm-approved tax software and tools to support accuracy and compliance.
-Stay informed on industry best practices and emerging trends to strengthen firm operations.
Qualifications & Skills
Required
-Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
-CPA or EA certification.
-Minimum of 5 years of experience in tax preparation and planning.
-Deep understanding of federal and state tax laws.
-Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
-Proven ability to manage multiple projects and meet strict deadlines.
-Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a client-focused mindset.
-Proficiency with tax software such as UltraTax or ProConnect, as well as Microsoft Office Suite.
