Tax Manager – CPA Required | People-First Firm with Real Balance, Real Growth
?? Why You’ll Love It Here:
This is the kind of place where your coworkers know your dog’s name, your clients stay for decades, and your development as a leader matters just as much as your technical chops. Mentorship, Not Micromanagement: You’ll be supported, challenged, and encouraged to grow without being watched over your shoulder
Give Back While You Grow: Volunteer time, charity matching, and community involvement are built into the culture
Culture That Sticks: From team retreats to a stocked break room and impromptu celebrations—we’re serious about the work, but not about ourselves
?? Benefits & Perks:
Unlimited PTO + extended sick leave
8 weeks paid parental leave (up to 12 for managers)
Overtime paid—accurately tracked and compensated
Annual merit increases + revenue share for new business
$3K/year for continuing education + paid time for board service
Office perks: full dining table, candy wall, good coffee (we promise)
Team perks: holiday parties, retreats, and actual camaraderie
?? The Role:
We’re looking for a Tax Manager who knows that great work doesn’t happen in a vacuum—it’s about relationships, leadership, and balance. If you’re a CPA who leads with humility, curiosity, and heart, you’ll feel right at home here.
What You’ll Do:
Guide and grow a talented tax team—coach first, manage second
Provide smart, strategic tax advice across a range of clients
Build real relationships across the firm—not just within your lane
Encourage learning, curiosity, and open dialogue
Bring energy and balance to your team, especially during busy times
Must-Have Qualifications:
Active CPA license – Required (EA-only candidates won’t be considered)
Solid experience leading tax engagements and teams
A reputation for being both technically sharp and emotionally aware
Coaching mindset—you enjoy helping others grow
“Humble, Hungry, and Smart”—you bring the full package
Nice-to-Have Experience:
Clients in real estate, construction, or professional services
Experience with high-net-worth individuals or multi-state returns
What Doesn’t Fit:
Backgrounds primarily from TPA or actuarial firms
Tax pros without an active CPA license
The Culture & How We Work:
Character-Driven: We care more about who you are than what you’ve done
Leadership Is Personal: Partners and managers are in the trenches, not on pedestals
Flexibility Grows With You: Start in-office, then explore hybrid options based on trust
Learning Never Stops: We invest in education, mentoring, and peer support
Low Drama, High Support: We like each other—and it shows
If you’re a CPA who wants to lead, grow, and still have time for your life—this might be your kind of firm.
