Key Responsibilities
- Manage the preparation and review of individual, business, trust, nonprofit, partnership, corporate, and fiduciary tax returns.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations while maintaining accurate tax records, workpapers, and documentation.
- Develop proactive tax planning strategies to help clients reduce tax exposure and make informed financial decisions.
- Research complex tax issues, monitor legislative and regulatory changes, and provide clear recommendations to clients and internal teams.
- Coordinate responses to tax notices, examinations, and audits while serving as a key tax resource.
- Review staff work, provide technical guidance, support mentorship, and contribute to tax department process improvements.

Required Qualifications and Skills
- Manage tax compliance and review processes for a variety of return types.
- Lead tax planning, research, advisory support, and client-facing tax guidance.
- Support tax notice responses, audits, documentation, and regulatory compliance.
- Mentor staff, review work quality, and assist with department efficiency improvements.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 5+ years of progressive tax experience in public accounting or a similar environment.
- Strong background with individual, corporate, partnership, fiduciary, trust, and nonprofit tax returns.
- Comprehensive understanding of federal, state, and local tax regulations and reporting requirements.
- Experience using tax preparation and accounting software platforms.
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, problem-solving, verbal communication, and written communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple engagements, deadlines, and client priorities with accuracy and professionalism.
Preferred Qualifications
- CPA designation or advanced tax credentials.
- 6-10 years of tax experience in public accounting or a similar professional services environment.
- Strong leadership and team development experience.
- Client-focused approach with exceptional attention to detail.
- Ability to interpret and communicate complex tax concepts clearly.
