Our client is seeking a skilled and proactive Tax Manager to join its team. This role is responsible for overseeing tax operations, ensuring compliance, and delivering high-quality tax planning and preparation services to clients. The ideal candidate has strong technical tax expertise combined with leadership ability, strategic thinking, and excellent client relationship management skills.

Key Responsibilities
Tax Preparation and Review
- Prepare and review complex individual, corporate, partnership, and trust tax returns with accuracy and attention to detail.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations.
- Oversee the tax preparation process to ensure efficiency, consistency, and quality across all engagements.

Tax Planning

- Develop and implement tax-saving strategies tailored to clients’ financial and business objectives.
- Advise clients on tax implications related to personal and business financial decisions.
- Research and analyze changes in tax laws and regulations and provide recommendations to clients and internal teams.

Team Leadership and Development
- Lead, mentor, and support a team of tax professionals, fostering a culture of continuous learning and high performance.
- Provide training and development opportunities to strengthen technical and professional skills.
- Monitor team workload and performance to ensure deadlines are met without compromising quality.

Client Relationship Management
- Build and maintain strong client relationships through clear communication and exceptional service.
- Conduct client meetings to discuss tax strategies, financial goals, and deliverables.
- Address client questions and concerns promptly and provide practical solutions.

Operational Excellence
- Collaborate with the Director of Operations to streamline tax processes and improve efficiency.
- Utilize and maintain tax software and tools to ensure accuracy, consistency, and compliance.
- Monitor industry trends and integrate best practices into firm operations.

Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- CPA or EA certification required.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in tax preparation and tax planning.
- Strong knowledge of federal and state tax laws and regulations.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a client-focused approach.
- Proficiency in tax software such as UltraTax or ProConnect, and Microsoft Office Suite.
