We are seeking an experienced Tax Manager to lead and oversee all tax-related functions of the organization. This role is responsible for ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations while proactively identifying opportunities to minimize tax exposure. The Tax Manager will provide strategic tax guidance to leadership, manage tax planning and reporting, oversee audits, and lead the development of tax staff. This position works closely with finance, legal, and external advisors to support the organization’s financial goals.

Key Responsibilities
• Manage the preparation, review, and filing of federal, state, and local tax returns, including income, sales/use, payroll, and other applicable taxes
• Monitor changes in tax laws and regulations, assess impacts, and implement necessary updates
• Lead tax planning initiatives to optimize tax strategies and mitigate risk
• Oversee tax provision calculations and reporting in accordance with GAAP (ASC 740), as applicable
• Serve as the primary point of contact for tax audits, inquiries, and correspondence with taxing authorities
• Analyze complex tax issues and provide clear recommendations to senior leadership
• Supervise, mentor, and develop tax staff while managing workflows and deadlines
• Coordinate with external tax advisors, auditors, and consultants
• Maintain accurate tax documentation, internal controls, and policies
• Support special projects such as mergers, acquisitions, restructurings, and entity formations

Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred)
• CPA, EA, or equivalent professional certification required or strongly preferred
• 5–8+ years of progressive tax experience, including supervisory or leadership responsibilities
• Strong knowledge of federal and state tax laws and compliance requirements
• Experience with tax software and ERP systems
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with proven leadership ability

Preferred Skills
• Public accounting and/or industry tax management experience
• Multistate taxation experience
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Proven ability to translate complex tax concepts into practical business guidance

Work Environment
• Hybrid or on-site work arrangement, depending on organizational needs
• Extended hours may be required during peak tax periods
