A local CPA firm in Shreveport, LA is seeking a full-time Tax Accountant for a direct hire opportunity within a stable public accounting environment. This role is a strong fit for an accounting professional with 1 to 2 years of experience who wants to build long-term expertise in tax preparation, bookkeeping, financial statements, and client service.
The Tax Accountant will support a variety of individual, business, trust, partnership, and corporate tax matters while learning from experienced accounting professionals. Key Responsibilities
- Prepare federal and state income tax returns for individuals, trusts, corporations, and partnerships.
- Prepare federal and state tax projections for quarterly estimated tax payments.
- Prepare franchise tax, personal property tax, and payroll tax returns.
- Prepare or review monthly bookkeeping activity for client accounts.
- Prepare financial statements and support related accounting work.
- Research tax and accounting questions to help resolve client issues accurately and efficiently.
Compensation and Benefits
- Salary range: $50,000 to $70,000 per year, depending on experience.
- Direct hire, full-time opportunity.

- Assist with bookkeeping, financial statement preparation, and client accounting work.

- 1 to 2 years of accounting, tax, bookkeeping, or public accounting experience.
- Working knowledge of federal and state income tax preparation concepts.
- Ability to prepare or review bookkeeping activity and support financial statement work.
- Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and organization.
- Strong communication skills with a client-service mindset.
- Ability to manage deadlines, prioritize work, and collaborate effectively in a CPA firm environment.
- Dependable, professional, and interested in building a long-term career in public accounting.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience in a CPA firm or public accounting environment.
- Experience preparing individual and business tax returns.
- Familiarity with tax preparation, bookkeeping, or accounting software.
- Accounting degree or progress toward CPA eligibility.
