Key Responsibilities

- Prepare federal and state tax returns for individuals, corporations, S corporations, partnerships, and other business entities.
- Review financial records, general ledger activity, and supporting documentation for accuracy and tax compliance.
- Assist with tax planning strategies to help clients identify opportunities and minimize tax liabilities.
- Research tax regulations and stay current on federal, state, and local tax law changes.
- Support clients with tax notices, inquiries, documentation requests, and compliance-related matters.
- Communicate professionally with clients and internal team members to ensure accurate and timely completion of tax engagements.

Required Qualifications and Skills

- Prepare and review individual and business tax returns.
- Support tax planning, compliance, and tax research projects.
- Review financial documentation and identify tax-related issues or opportunities.
- Communicate with clients regarding tax filings, notices, and required documentation.

- 3 to 5 years of tax accounting experience.
- Strong knowledge of federal and state tax regulations.
- Experience preparing individual and business tax returns.
- Proficiency with tax preparation software and accounting systems.
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills.
- High attention to detail with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines, especially during peak tax season.
- Professional written and verbal communication skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred for this level of role.

Preferred Qualifications

- CPA license or active CPA candidate status.
- Public accounting experience.
- Experience preparing complex individual, partnership, corporate, and S corporation tax returns.
- Experience advising small to mid-sized business clients.
- Familiarity with tax planning strategies and client consulting services.
