Tax Accountant / Estate Tax Specialist
Location: Cherry Hill / Marlton, NJ (near Philadelphia)
Full-Time | Salary: $85,000 to $100,000 plus bonus and benefits
Seeking a Tax Accountant / Estate Tax Specialist to join an experienced team. This role is ideal for tax professionals or CPAs who want to transition out of public accounting into a more stable and predictable environment while continuing to work on complex tax matters.
Responsibilities
This is a tax-focused position with a primary emphasis on preparing complex returns for high-net-worth clients:
Prepare Federal Estate Tax Returns (Form 706)
Prepare Federal Gift Tax Returns (Form 709), fiduciary income tax returns, and individual income tax returns
Handle New Jersey and Pennsylvania estate and inheritance tax filings
Maintain financial records and prepare supporting schedules
Assist with estate and trust administration, including asset collection, valuations, and accountings
Collaborate with attorneys and legal staff on client matters
Communicate with clients, banks, and financial institutions
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA preferred)
3 to 8 or more years of hands-on tax preparation experience
Experience with estate, gift, fiduciary, or trust taxation
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and tax software such as ProSeries, OneSource, or similar
Strong attention to detail, organization, and communication skills
Ability to manage multiple deadlines and work independently and within a team
