We are seeking an experienced Tax Associate with a minimum of 5 years of hands-on tax preparation and compliance experience. This role is ideal for a detail-driven professional who is comfortable managing complex returns, communicating with clients, and contributing to a collaborative tax team.

A CPA license is not required, but candidates must be CPA-eligible and actively working toward certification or planning to pursue it.

Key Responsibilities
Prepare and review individual, corporate, partnership, and fiduciary tax returns
Conduct tax research and provide recommendations based on findings

Assist with tax planning strategies for individuals and businesses

Analyze financial statements and supporting documentation for accuracy and completeness

Communicate directly with clients to gather information, clarify questions, and provide updates

Support senior tax staff and managers with complex engagements

Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations

Maintain organized workpapers and documentation in accordance with firm standards

Monitor deadlines and manage multiple assignments simultaneously

Contribute to process improvements and workflow efficiency

Qualifications
5+ years of tax preparation and compliance experience (public accounting preferred but not required)
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
CPA-eligible (completed required education or in progress)
Strong understanding of federal and state tax codes
Proficiency with tax software (e.g., UltraTax, ProSeries, Lacerte, CCH, or similar)
Advanced Excel skills and comfort with financial systems
Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work independently and meet deadlines during peak seasons

Preferred Skills (Not Required)
Experience with multi-state returns
Exposure to high-net-worth individuals or complex business structures
Familiarity with GAAP principles
Prior experience in a CPA firm or tax consulting environment
