Tax Accountant
Location: Cary, NC
Hybrid schedule: 3 days in-office, 2 days remote
Targeted start date: 2/16/26
Anticipated end date: 1/6/27
Compensation: $80.00/hr.
Overview
The Tax Accountant Prepares and files sales and use tax returns for multiple entities and jurisdictions, prepares annual sales and property tax exemption calculations, completing tax research projects. Additionally, this position assists with compiling all necessary work papers and documents used to prepare federal and state income tax returns for all system filings.
Responsibilities
• Coordinate Sales and Use Tax Filings with 3rd Party Vendor
• Tax Compliance and Reporting
• Reconcile General Ledger Tax accounts
• Prepare Journal Entries
• Maintain/Update Business Tax Renewals and Registrations
• Property Tax Reporting
• Escheatment (Unclaimed Property) Filings
• Maintain Exemption Certificates
• Make Various IRS Tax Payments
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or related field
• 3-6 years of previous federal or state tax accounting experience
• Proficiency with MS Office: Excel, Word, Teams, Outlook
• Tax Software experience
