Tax Accountant

Location: Greater Seattle Area

Position Summary

The Tax Accountant is responsible for preparing and reviewing tax returns, supporting tax compliance activities, and assisting with tax planning initiatives. This role works closely with internal teams and external partners to ensure accurate reporting and compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare and review federal, state, and local tax returns for individuals, partnerships, and corporations

Assist with quarterly and annual tax filings and related workpapers

Support tax compliance and reporting requirements, including sales and use tax and business & occupation (B&O) tax

Research tax issues and regulations to ensure compliance and support tax planning efforts

Respond to tax notices and assist with audits or information requests

Maintain accurate documentation and organized tax records

Collaborate with accounting and finance teams to ensure alignment between tax and financial reporting

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field

2+ years of experience in tax accounting or public accounting (experience level may vary)

Working knowledge of federal and Washington State tax regulations

Proficiency with tax preparation software and Microsoft Excel

Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment

Preferred Qualifications

CPA or CPA-eligible

Experience with multi-state or local tax filings

Familiarity with accounting systems or ERP platforms

Work Environment

This position is based in the Greater Seattle Area and may offer in-office, hybrid, or remote work arrangements depending on business needs.
