We are seeking an experienced and detail-driven CPA Tax Manager. The ideal candidate will have comprehensive expertise in tax preparation across a variety of tax types and industries, combined with strong leadership and client management skills.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage and oversee all aspects of tax compliance and preparation for individual, corporate, partnership, trust, and nonprofit clients
Prepare and review complex federal, state, and local tax returns, ensuring accuracy and compliance with current tax laws
Develop and implement effective tax planning strategies tailored to clients’ unique financial situations
Coordinate and supervise the work of junior staff and tax preparers, providing mentorship and training
Liaise with clients, auditors, and tax authorities to resolve tax issues and audits
Stay current on changes in tax legislation and regulations to proactively advise clients
Assist in business development by identifying new tax-related service opportunities
Qualifications:
Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license required
Minimum 5 years of tax preparation experience in a public accounting environment
Extensive experience preparing and managing the following tax types:
Individual (1040 and related schedules)
Corporate (C-Corp and S-Corp)
Partnership (including complex partnership allocations)
Trusts and Estates
Nonprofit organizations (IRS Form 990)
Multi-state and local tax filings
International tax compliance and reporting (optional but preferred)
Strong understanding of tax software (e.g., Lacerte, ProSystem fx, UltraTax)
Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills
Ability to manage multiple client projects and deadlines efficiently
