We are seeking a knowledgeable and detail-oriented Tax Accountant with an Enrolled Agent (EA) or Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation to join our tax team. The ideal candidate will prepare and review tax returns, provide tax planning and compliance services, and ensure clients or the company meet all federal, state, and local tax regulations. Strong analytical skills and expertise in tax law are essential.
The Tax Accountant will prepare, review, and file federal, state, and local tax returns for individuals, businesses, and organizations, conduct tax research and provide strategic tax planning advice to optimize tax positions and ensure compliance and represent clients before the IRS and other tax authorities, including handling audits and resolving tax disputes (for EA designation).
The Tax Accountant will stay current with changes in tax laws, regulations, and best practices to advise clients and accordingly, collaborate with accounting and finance teams to ensure accurate tax reporting and financial compliance and assist in the preparation of tax provisions and deferred tax calculations for financial statements.
The Tax Accountant will Analyze tax data and identify potential tax-saving opportunities, prepare and maintain detailed documentation and supporting schedules for tax filings and audits, and communicate complex tax concepts clearly to clients and internal stakeholders.
The Tax Accountant will participate in continuing professional education to maintain EA or CPA licensure and enhance expertise.
Qualifications:
Enrolled Agent (EA) or Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification required.
3+ years of experience in tax accounting or related roles.
In-depth knowledge of federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations.
Experience with individual, corporate, partnership, and trust tax returns.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
Proficiency with tax preparation software (e.g., Lacerte, ProSeries, UltraTax, or similar).
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
