Job Summary
We are seeking an enthusiastic and customer-focused Tasting Room Associate for a part-time contract opportunity in Guerneville, CA. This guest-facing hospitality role is ideal for someone who enjoys wine, storytelling, sales, and creating memorable visitor experiences in a dynamic winery environment.
As a Tasting Room Associate, you will welcome guests, lead tastings and tours, share winery and winemaking knowledge, and support wine, club membership, and merchandise sales. This is a great opportunity to work with a collaborative hospitality team, receive training in wine education and guest service, and be part of a positive, team-oriented environment where excellent service and guest engagement are valued.
Key Responsibilities
- Welcome guests with professionalism, warmth, and a strong hospitality mindset.
- Conduct wine and sparkling wine tasting experiences while educating guests on products, winery history, and winemaking practices.
- Lead engaging tours and create informative, memorable experiences that encourage guest loyalty and repeat visits.
- Promote and sell wines, club memberships, and retail merchandise while supporting tasting room sales goals.
- Process transactions accurately using the Point of Sale system and recommend wine selections or pairings.
- Maintain a clean, organized, stocked, and sanitized tasting room environment while following safety, sanitation, and responsible beverage service guidelines.
Compensation and Benefits
- Pay: $20.00 to $26.00 per hour.
- Job Type: Contract/Temporary.
- Schedule: Part-time, averaging up to 25 hours per week.

Required Qualifications and Skills
- Conduct guest wine tastings and sparkling wine experiences in a professional tasting room setting.
- Promote wine sales, club memberships, and retail merchandise to support business goals.
- Lead tours and share engaging winery history, vineyard, and winemaking information.
- Maintain tasting room cleanliness, guest readiness, and responsible beverage service standards.
- Must be 21 years of age or older.
- 1 to 2 years of relevant hospitality, tasting room, food service, retail, or customer service experience preferred.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and guest service skills.
- Strong sales aptitude with the ability to recommend products and enhance the guest experience.
- Comfortable speaking to groups, leading tours, and engaging with diverse visitors.
- Ability to learn and clearly communicate wine knowledge, winery heritage, vineyard practices, and production methods.
- Ability to use or learn Point of Sale systems for accurate transaction processing.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift wine cases or merchandise as needed.
- Reliable availability for weekends, holidays, and seasonal peak periods.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior winery, tasting room, beverage service, or hospitality experience.
- Interest in wine, sparkling wine, winemaking, or wine education.
- Experience with membership sales, retail sales, or guest loyalty programs.
- Familiarity with responsible alcohol service practices.
