The Talent Acquisition Specialist – University Programs plays a key role in attracting, engaging, and supporting students and recent graduates for internship and entry-level opportunities. This position is responsible for managing and expanding the company’s college internship program, building strong partnerships with universities, and delivering a positive candidate experience from outreach through conversion to full-time employment.
This role works closely with hiring managers, HR partners, and academic institutions to develop a robust pipeline of early-career talent.
Core Duties and Responsibilities:
• Coordinate and oversee the company’s college internship program across branch locations.
• Build and maintain relationships with university career services offices, faculty, and student organizations at targeted colleges and universities.
• Act as the primary liaison between the company and academic institutions.
• Attend and support campus recruiting events, career fairs, and networking sessions.
• Partner with hiring managers to assist in the selection, onboarding, and intern mentoring coordination process.
• Track intern performance and support initiatives to convert high-performing interns into full-time employees.
• Maintain ongoing communication with top interns until full-time employment begins.
• Maintain and organize an accurate database of staffing needs by branch location, updating as business needs change.
• Post open positions on job boards, company platforms, and college career portals to increase candidate flow.
• Support registration and participation in career fairs to promote company opportunities and awareness of future openings.
• Screen applicant resumes and refer qualified candidates to hiring managers for formal interviews.
• Maintain confidential electronic employee and candidate files, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
• Document recruiting workflows and procedures; proactively identify opportunities for process improvement.
• Assist the HR team with additional projects and initiatives as needed.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in recruiting, admissions, campus recruitment, or a related field.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to build relationships at all levels.
• Confident, professional interpersonal style with a student- and candidate-focused mindset.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
• Ability to manage data and confidential information with a high level of discretion and accuracy.
• Ability to travel to campus events and career fairs as needed.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience managing or supporting a college internship or early-career program.
• Familiarity with applicant tracking systems (ATS) and campus recruiting platforms.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
