Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented System Assembler for a contract/temporary opportunity in San Jose, CA. This role is ideal for an experienced assembly professional with hands-on skills in industrial systems, electronic components, wiring, cable routing, and functional testing.

The System Assembler will support U.S. production operations by assembling, integrating, testing, and finishing systems according to customer specifications. This position offers the opportunity to work in a structured manufacturing environment with supportive leadership, strong teamwork, and clear production standards. Team members collaborate closely with leads, managers, technicians, and other production staff to ensure quality, accuracy, and on-time completion of customer orders.

Key Responsibilities
- Assemble industrial systems and electronic components, including racks, panels, modules, wiring harnesses, and cable assemblies.
- Perform wiring, cable routing, connector installation, system integration, extended temperature testing, functional testing, and value-added production work.
- Install operating systems and perform BIOS updates in DOS as required.
- Read and interpret manufacturing orders, technical drawings, electrical schematics, and assembly instructions.
- Follow production instructions from leads and managers while communicating effectively with team members.
- Maintain the production area, tools, and equipment while supporting operation technicians with various production tasks as needed.

Primary duties and projects include:
- Assemble industrial computer systems, electronic components, racks, panels, modules, wiring harnesses, and cable assemblies.
- Perform electrical wiring, cable routing, connector installation, system integration, and functional testing.
- Read manufacturing orders, assembly instructions, technical drawings, and electrical schematics.
- Support production operations by completing customer-specific builds and maintaining quality standards.

Required qualifications and skills:

- 3 to 5 years of relevant experience in system assembly, electronic assembly, manufacturing, production, or a related technical environment.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Hands-on experience with system assembly, electrical wiring, cable assemblies, and industrial computer builds.
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and electronic test equipment.
- Ability to install operating systems and perform BIOS updates in DOS as required.
- Ability to follow technical instructions, manufacturing documentation, safety standards, and industry assembly practices.
- Strong attention to detail, commitment to quality, and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to take direction from leads, managers, and senior technicians.
- Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 40 pounds.
- Ability to stand frequently and perform reaching, bending, grasping, kneeling, and repetitive use of hands for tools and components.
- Ability to use computers and general office equipment.
- Vision requirements include close, distance, color, peripheral, and depth vision, with the ability to adjust focus.

Preferred Qualifications

- Technical certification in electronics, electrical systems, system assembly, or a related technical field.
- Experience with extended temperature testing, functional testing, rack builds, cable harness assembly, or value-added manufacturing services.
- Familiarity with industrial computer systems, electronic production environments, and customer-specific build requirements.
