The Surgery/Procedure Scheduler will support high-volume procedure scheduling, patient follow-up, insurance verification, authorization research, and patient record updates. Key Responsibilities

- Coordinate high-volume surgery and procedure scheduling in a timely and accurate manner.
- Manage inbound and outbound patient calls related to scheduling, follow-up, and procedure coordination.
- Update patient records and scheduling details within the appropriate medical systems.
- Verify insurance coverage and research authorizations when needed.
- Communicate professionally with patients, providers, clinical teams, and administrative staff.
- Support additional administrative and clerical duties to ensure smooth patient access and care coordination.

Compensation and Benefits

- $28.00 to $30.00 per hour.
- Temp-to-hire opportunity.

Required Qualifications and Skills

- Coordinate surgery and procedure scheduling for a high-volume healthcare environment.
- Manage patient follow-up calls and scheduling communications.
- Update patient records and support insurance verification processes.
- Research authorizations and assist with related administrative follow-up.

- 3 to 5 years of relevant healthcare administrative, surgery scheduling, or procedure scheduling experience.
- Experience using Epic is strongly preferred for first consideration.
- Strong knowledge of patient scheduling workflows, insurance verification, and authorization processes.
- Ability to handle high call volume while maintaining professionalism and accuracy.
- Excellent communication, organization, and follow-through skills.
- High attention to detail and ability to work effectively in a busy medical office or healthcare setting.

Preferred Qualifications

- Prior experience in a surgical, specialty practice, ambulatory care, or hospital scheduling environment.
- Experience supporting complex procedure scheduling and coordinating with multiple clinical departments.
- Strong Epic proficiency and comfort navigating electronic medical records.
- Ability to research insurance authorizations and resolve scheduling-related issues efficiently.
